A quote by the artist, \'An artist may speak his mind, but his work reveals his soul.\' As in the quote, every artist puts at least a little portion of his or her soul in the creating of each work of art. Brooke Lyman hopes that in some way his expression of color and form will touch a portion of your soul and bring you pleasure in the viewing of each painting. In the event you do not find something that speaks to you or fits your taste, you can expect to see new paintings posted as they are finished and hopefully you will connect with one of the new entries on future visits. For the most part I use original photos, which I have taken to be used as reference for subjects that I paint. Photos work well to help maintain a sense of accuracy in painting a subject. Combining subjects from a variety of photos can help build interesting compositions as well. In addition to exhibiting works in paint, I have submitted some photography I feel stand alone as artful or at the very least interesting . Regardless, we thank you for visiting our gallery and hope that you will visit us again.
